What insurances do you take?

Just Eyes Optometry is an open access out of network provider for most vision plans and medical insurances. This means that services are paid for at the time of your visit and then an itemized receipt is provided for you to submit to your vision plan or insurance company for reimbursement. This structure allows for competitive open and transparent pricing, greater choice of optical products, and a more consistent high level of quality for both services and materials.

What is your return policy?

All purchases of materials (glasses, sunglasses or contacts) are protected with a 30 day hassle free refund or exchange policy, and returns for store credit are available up to 90 days. Services/exams cannot be refunded once provided.

Do your exams check for glaucoma?

Absolutely! Along with the usual testing to determine your prescriptions for glasses and/or contacts, your exam will include a full eye health assessment including eye pressure testing and dilation. These comprehensive exams can reveal early signs of diabetes, uncontrolled high blood pressure, glaucoma, macular degeneration, ocular cancers, and much more! Dilation is recommended for all new patients and every 1-2 years for established patients, or as needed for medical reasons. If there are any suspicious findings or conditions requiring further testing or surgery you will be referred to another local provider for specialized treatment.

What is the turn around time on glasses?

Currently lenses are not cut in house. To minimize both wait time and carbon footprint, your glasses will be finished at an optical lab right across the river in Orangeburg, NY. Expect about a week for standard single vision prescriptions, and up to 2 weeks for custom or progressive lenses. Note that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, delays may occur and every effort will be made to keep you updated on your order status.

How long is an eye exam?

Exams without dilation typically take 20-30 minutes, and with dilation 45-60 minutes. Exam appointments are booked hourly to allow for cleaning between patients. Follow up visits are typically 10-15 minutes.

Where can I view your patient privacy notice?

The HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices will be emailed to you along with your entrance paperwork once an appointment is booked. The notice can also be viewed by clicking the button below:
